Interesting take on last night's performance by NBA Scout, David Thorpe.  Seems higher on Vander than on DJO.  No mention of Vander's shooting, probably because he didn't shoot except for drives, but very high on his abilities.

He directly mentions Vander's "nice perimeter shot".  I don't remember him taking one last night either though. 

Basketball tools: Blue is a smooth dribbler with a nice perimeter shot. He mixed up his driving speeds well. He looked like he enjoyed playing defense and was up for the challenge of guarding Washington's talented guards without fouling.

I don't really think any NBA scouts would be taking much out of a warmup in terms of shooting.  I watched, and counted, as Trend Blackledge sank 11 straight 3 pointers from a good step behind the 3 point line during warmups at one game his senior year.  If you're a division 1 basketball player who isn't just a 7' monster and that is it, you can knock down an open (warmup) jump shot.  It's really amazing how talented even the least talented players on a team like Marquette are.

Well even a lot of casual ball players can shoot well.  With all the practice and experience these guys have playing at a high level I would expect many of them to be nailing a bunch of shots in warm-ups as well.  I guess Vander was hitting a bunch of threes in a row in warm-ups before the UW game.  I imagine by his senior year Vander's shooting will be much better mainly due to confidence and experience.

This reminds me of the creator of Club Trillion's skill videos.  Dude could ball and he was a walk-on at OSU.  The talent at the end of any D1 roster is going to be pretty legit.
