I know most everyone seems sensitive to the topic of our beat writer but one area we can agree on is that Rosiak did a much better job with his post-game stuff.

Enlund provides nothing in this regard. At least Rosiak would include press conference quotes that didn't make his story and/or little tidbits about the game that didn't make it to the public.

This is the kind of coverage that elevates a local source. Otherwise, I get better information from the AP story posted on ESPN.

There is no time stamp on the blog.  My impression, though, is that Enlund puts together a quick write up at halftime and at the end of the game to get the information out.  The quotes are in the article he puts together and posts later.

I don't believe Rosiak did the same.  I think his blog report came after the PC and interviews.  Typically, Rosiak's blog was closer to his article - if not the actual article itself.

Here's a quick link http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/archive/?blogID=28007259&startDate=01-01-2011&endDate=01-31-2011&archive=y....hopefully it will go to the recap of MU-WVU game in January.

As you can see, Rosiak provided a breakdown (player of game; turning point; tidbits) and what looks to be a near transcript of the press conferences from those involved. I haven't seen anything like that from Enlund post-game.

Would all the info Rosiak had in this link be in the print edition as you wrote? Are there nuggets in the print edition from Enlund that people outside Wisconsin don't see and he doesn't post to the blog?

It just feels so basic to me now compared to last season that the AP does a better job than the beat writer. Maybe its a totally different experience for those who read the hardcopy?

I can't judge Enlund v. Rosiak on post-games, because .. I rarely read them.  I like reading the press conference transcripts (or watch the video) -- usually the published story is simply about something I watched anyhow.  -- Whenever I wrote post-games for CS, I'd (try to) stay away from the generic "this is what happened" and focus on the "what you might have missed" aspect .. the AP reports and JS reports focus on retelling the game to people who DIDN'T watch.

But as for Enlund so far .. I think his volume and quickness is higher than Todd's.  He posts more often, shorter bits.  He gets the info and spills it quickly.  That's a good thing.   His depth isn't as great, but that should come .. he's only been on the beat, what, 60 days?
