Marquette stayed put at No. 16 in the latest Associated Press top 25 poll - which again was put out before the Golden Eagles beat Jacksonville on Monday. The Golden Eagles did gain 79 votes, however.

Dick Weiss had us at 11 last week and not ranked this week?  That Norfolk State game hit him hard!

Norfolk State is 4-2 right now (I won't mention their RPI because that stat is meaningless right now) and granted the season is still young, but come on... how do you rank a team #11 one week and NR the next?!?  Either he screwed up last week or he screwed up this week... I'd love for him to justify the change in heart.

Most had us jumping a few spots in the polls so him not ranking us dropped us a few places from where we should have been.

Eh, whatever. It's just cool to be ranked. I think its great that Seth Davis is really the only guy who doesn't have us in his top 25. What a clown.

On his Twitter account this afternoon, a fan asked Davis if he would rank Marquette if/when they beat WI- his answer: "I promise".  He's still got Cal ranked, so maybe if we keep it close (<39 pts) we'll get a little love.

Later, we learned that he thinks the 3 goggles are "stupid".  Maybe thats why he hates us.
