So after reading the sporting news week review of MU where they mention how Jae could be a linebacker in the NFL it got me thinking. I fully expect Jae to have a huge year and end up making the NBA, but I wonder if he could also be a Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Jimmy Ghrame type of player in the NFL.

I recall when he first commited that he had some past football experience (might have even been QB) and clearly his build is Tight End capable which is why when I read that comment I thought of him playing in the NFL.

This is just a crazy thought that has a very small chance of reality, mostly because I expect Jae in the NBA, but what do you all think. That would be so sweet to see.
Bring back FFP!!!

From the wayback machine, IIRC, Tom Copa had the Dallas Cowboys sniffing around him during his senior year.    Again, IIRC, he was an all-state tight end in Minnesota and with his size (6'9, 254) there was at least a token interest.

If Jae is 6'9" I am 6'3"

Really, I'm 5'11"

Dont forget Jermicheal Finley was offered a hoops scholarship to Zona by Lute....most of the big time TE's now days were all hoops players.
But I like to throw handfuls...

Copa is/was 6'9, not Jae.   Sorry if I left my participle dangling.

Rickey Dudley.
6-6, 255 - though I think less while at Ohio State.

Jae would make a great TE. Hes got the built and athleticism. He would just need the proper coaching and direction in football, the way he recieves it in basketball from Buzz.

Fun Fact:

In 1969, George Thompson was drafted by the Colts.

Was GT the last Marquette athlete drafted by the NFL?

If our wiki is correct, yes.  If it's not, then someone should fix it!
