This past weekend, SoCal's Mater Dei defeated NorCal's Archbishop Mitty in the state championship.

MD's Taylor King is headed to Duke. He paced MD to a 5 point victory with 29 points.

Mitty's Drew Gordon (top ten junior prospect in the nation) will get another chance next year, along with fellow junior Colin Chieverton, who is listed as an MU prospect (high interest).

Here's a slideshow on the game and a few looks at Colin in action (photos).

Mater Dei is an excellent basketball school. Lots of talent coming from there including DJ Strawberry at Maryland. I love hearing about them. They beat the CRAP out of my HS every year.

They also have heisman winner Matt Leinart.

mcroberts has stated that he will not be signing with an agent which means hes leaving his options open and i for 1 believe unless hes top 15 he will be back

McRoberts is terribly over-rated, too soft for the NBA

pure genius stuff by Bill Simmons, remember to read day 2

I don't see how McRoberts is overrated. McRoberts has all the physical tools that NBA scouts love. The guy has size, can play inside and out, handle the ball, shoot, etc. The only negative I see is possibly mental. Does he have the mental toughness to compete in the NBA? Either way, I say he is a lock for the first round.
