I would hope that Wes is more concerned with being a legend in the NBA instead of worrying about his status in the Red Square.

That Schwartz guy cracks me up. I'll happily admit UW has had a better run the past 15 years or so than Marquette, but saying they have a better legacy right now is ridiculous. We've got Wade, Novak, Matthews, Butler, and Hayward in the NBA. McNeal is on the verge of being in there and Diener could be if he wanted to be a sixth-seventh man type. UW has Harris, Landry, and (maybe) Leuer.

I liked Wes' response..."that could be true but I think I'm doing alright wit the start of my legacy"

Golden Avalanche

No one should ever question Wesley Matthews. Outstanding success story on many levels.

@MerritsMustache: Then again Wes succeeded because he was a Warrior and he would have not been close to being what he is, had he been a badger.

actually, wasn't he a Golden Eagle?

@MerritsMustache. Also, the fact that Devin Harris was forgotten as a Badger just shows how Wes Matthew would have been forgotten as well.

Yep, that was exactly my point.

Badger fans are so smart.  The world revolves around them.  UW is the epicenter of the sports universe.  They wrote the song Jump Around, had House of Pain record it especially for them and then they jump around.  It truly is a marvel.  I mean their football team has been competitive for like 15 years now.  That's as long as OSU, Michigan, FSU, Alabama, LSU...

No teal needed.  I believe it is understood.

Don't forget, they also invented the color red.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

It's not called red... it's called cardinal.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Stanford = cardinal

Wisconsin = BIG red

I thought Big Red was Western Kentucky's mascot... but of course, they had to go copycat the UW there.

Then again, Big Red looks like a caricature of most UW fans... so it's probably not a ripoff, it's a homage.
