From doing research I can't even find that were in the mix. Did anyone know when he's making his decision?

WuDrWu

I believe a decision was to be given to the coaches today.  As of yet, I've not heard anything.

Golden Avalanche

Better chance at starting there, but he probably would have been at least the first forward off the bench for MU...unless Juan is better than I think he might be.

Tulsa Warrior

It appears the table is set.  JJ and JA will benefit the most.

nyg

Ok, if I get the math correct, that will probably now result in two scholarships being carried over to 2012.

With Ferguson and T.J. Taylor committed, that leaves three open spots for 2012?

GGGG

Only two open slots for 2012...assuming both Furguson and Taylor end up here.

BTW, the scholarship table needs to be updated...Singleton is on there and Thomas is not.

This is disappointing. AW would have given us solid minutes at the 4 and 3. Juan Anderson will be a good player at MU, as I'm hoping Jamil Jones will be, but I do not think they will be any where near consistant the way AW would have been. And, as an important side note, AW would have given MU some good news when we seem to need it most. The front line is a bit thin in 11-12, AW would have remedied that.

It would have been nice to land Walker for sure, considering the "cost" was nothing in the way of future scholarship availability.  A year player that could have provided some back up minutes.  No way he was going to start at MU, however, in front of Crowder or Wilson - and doubt for that matter he'd have gotten much more than 10-15 minutes per game of PT at MU (sure he came to the same conclusion, and this was a huge factor as to why he chose Xavier).

Andre Walker went to my high school, was only above average there. He has the body of a 4 man, who tries to play like a 3.  Don't know if you've seen him play, but he's the furthest thing from consistent.  Huge injury risk and a soft 4 man at best.

I'm not saying that AW would have been the answer at the 4 (or 3) for us this year. I am saying that he would have provided needed depth and experience especially in the case of an injury or the inevitable foul trouble. Again, it's disappointing. I could also do with a little good MU news now and AW would have provided that as well.  :(

I'd take Andre for the free spot, but I'd rather Juan Anderson have the minutes.  He's been playing at a high level and i believe can have a real impact even in limited minutes.

sure, a senior is usually ahead of a freshman, but I'm not sure in this case.  Walker has proven pretty mediocre so far.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

Thank you, finally someone calls this for what it is.  People see Kansas recruiting him and think he is going to come right in here and play 10-20 minutes.  If you have seen him play, you'll realize something important:  He can't play.  He'd be a tenth man on MU and then everyone would complain about how Buzz wasted a scholarship again.  I would understand getting him as insurance for an injury, but there is a good chance that he would be the one getting injured.

Interesting to note that Kansas signed Mervyn Lindsey, and while Marquette had him in for an official visit - MU did not offer Lindsey.  Hopefully Lindsey doesn't become another Jeremy Lamb or DJ Newbill!!
