For the record, the online version of the MJS has a pic of Tobias Harris, followed by a story by Michael Hunt about the Bucks.

Third story: "Marquette's Butler has a special night" and then...

"Notes: Bucks say they're pleased with Leuer selection"

Mike Hunt?  Mike Hunt?  His parents really named him Mike Hunt??

The purpose of the trade was to shed contracts...and I believe Jackson's expires next year.  If you cant be really, really good in the NBA, you might as well get really, really bad.

Well played, Mr. Hammond.  I will incorporate that logic into my next performance review.

For what it is worth; and perhaps the biggest surprise in the paper to all of us.  Is that Jimmy Butler made the Front page and Leur did not.

The JS is one of the worst metro dailies in America. It's falling readership is telling it that, but the arrogance of journalists suggests no one downtown is listening.

I've got to defend JS.  Most newspapers have just gone out of business in the internet age, but all of them have falliing circulations.  I believe it's a shame, and really enjoyed my brief time in the late 80s working as the lowest of the low (sports agate) with a couple of the sports writers that are still there.  I really view it as a very good newspaper, but with advertising revenue down everywhere, there is so little space to get in good writing that the reporters are squeezed.

The fact is Wisconsin has, I'm sure, more than 10 times as many graduates living in Wisconsin as Marquette grads in the state, so they have to give them the ink.  If I lived in Wisconsin I'm sure I'd wish it were the other way around, but MU gets a lot more air time in New York and I'm guessing Chicago, and that is much more important to me until Wisconsin starts producing more than one 5-star player every 5 years (BTW, thanks for coming to MU Vander!)

Bo runs a great scheme for winning college games - I give him his due - but he runs a scheme that is going to make it hard for many of his players to go to the NBA, so let them have more JS coverage of their boring but effective offense.  I don't believe it hurts our program in the least, and I don't blame JS for tailoring to their readership base.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).
