It's a little surprising to me that we never saw a movie about Al's life, or more accurately, the 1977 season. Seems like perfect movie fodder. McGuire was a great character with more worthwhile quotes than Vitale, and how great a swan song is it to ride out the career as NCAA champions, beating vaunted North Carolina? Could also be a nice little recruiting tool...hmm, maybe it's time for me to start researching and writing a script  8-)

Al was a tremendously private person.  He was hesitant to get involved with the books written about him.  It would have been murder to get his cooperation for a movie.

Screen Writer:  "Al, where are you?  You're supposed to be here helping us write this script".

Al:  Ah, bull hockey.  I'm riding my Harley out to Lake LaBelle.  Write it without me.

Screen Writer:  Well, I guess we're done here.
