Think we are really being over-reactive or hypersensitive as to what RoneyEford13 posts here.  If he wants to simply post a link to make MU fans (that are clearly here on this board) aware of an event with a link...so be it.  If he wants to write a little background about what is contained in the link...so be it.  Give the guy some slack. 

Honestly, if he didn't post that link here..I would not have been aware of the event..as I don't visit gomarquette.com very often or regularly.

Back to the thread...I actually didn't (and still don't) have a problem with just the link being posted. My haiku request was a joke.

But the response was a bit defensive, that's all. I actually know nothing about PR but it seemed a little off-putting, to say the least. Found it at least a little ironic he's in media relations. That's all. Carry on.

My offering of constructive criticism has nothing to do with an agenda.  It simply struck a cord with me yesterday because I have an employee that's exactly like RoneyEfford13.  Every task that he has he does the absolute minimum, taking absolutely no pride in his work.

It's not every day that someone rage-quits a forum, especially over something silly (albeit true).

First off .. Honestly, I assumed many people already figured out who RoneyEford13 was.  As he posted, even he didn't think it was a big deal to be unmasked, not sure why others have their panties in a bunch about it.

Second .. my agenda is pretty obvious, but let me spell it out.  Over the last 6-7 years, the reason I've spent a few thousand hours on this hobby .. the reason I've started hundreds of topics and taken and posted hundreds of photos and scores of videos .. is to create an online community of MU basketball fans.   

Without guys like Mike Juno, John Dodds, IWB, unclejohn, SoCalWarrior, NYWarrior, MU92, rocky, Spiral and myself .. the MU online community would be about as awesome as UWM's.

The method to this success has been to create content to attract eyeballs, sure, but also to foster quality "content generators" / users to contribute. 

Now, in the past Dodds used to delete posts when Cracked Sidewalks "bombed" Scout .. his rationale for deleting those was that he'd worked hard to create his site, and posting a link uses his hard work to promote another site, leaking eyeballs.  -- Scoop doesn't roll that way, of course.  But Dodds logic does make some sense, and I could see why he'd put a stop to a 3rd party taking advantage of his work.

But indeed, Scoop does let the MU Athletic Dept just post their links to drive our traffic to them.  My agenda?  Get the MU Athletic Dept to *participate* with this forum, instead of just using it to their advantage.  Yeah, I'm a bad guy for trying to get them to engage their own community of fans.

So to MUMac and Babytownfrolics and any others .. since Scoop is run so poorly, I expect to see you not visiting any longer.
