Now I am just as excited as everyone else about the Eagles great run to the S16 but before the board gets too fired up about the UNC game I just wanted to bring up the Women's team great season. I do not know if anyone saw the game on Monday or followed the team during the regular season but it was a lot of fun and everyone from Terri Mitchell down the last player fought all the way to the buzzer. As you know they fell short against Tennessee but overall the season was a great success and wanted to commend them for their efforts.

Congrats ladies on a great year. You made us proud.

They played well.  Impressive.  Especially making a comeback in the second half.
How will the women's team be next year.  I know they loose Angel Robinson?

SaveOD238

Honestly, they'll probably regress quite a bit.  They lose Angel Robinson, who is top ten all-time in just about every stat category, along with Paige Fiedoriwicz and Tatiyiana McMorris, who both start, and Courtney Weibel and Jasmine Collins, who get major minutes.  The team only played about 7.5 deep this year, and 5 of them are graduating.  Rebuilding next year for sure, but Sarina Simmons, Katherine Plouffe and Gabi Minix have bright futures.

Congrats on a great year, and heres to the women's team exceeding expectations next year!

I believe they lose 4 senior starters, including Robinson and inside presence Paige Fiedorowicz. 6 seniors in all. Will be a tough road back to the NCAAs for Terri Mitchell.

Goose

This great season probably took one million out of the men's program. Great return on investment.

Goose-
I don't see your point. I do not know how much money was spent on our fabulous women's team or any possible revenue brought in, but the economic value cannot be argued. By having a women's team we create a richer athletic environment for players and fans alike which ultimately Marquette benefits from through increased applications at the undergraduate level. Also in case you missed it, under Title IX our student athletes regardless of gender, have every right to field a team if the university has funds available. Instead of ridiculing the team I suggest you attend a game next season; they are a lot of fun and have just as much intensity and passion as a Men's game against a ranked opponent.

Anytime you can s*** all over the women's basketball program who played their asses off yesterday against one of the most storied programs in the country, on their floor, to make a lame-ass political wisecrack, YOU'VE GOT TO DO IT.  Thanks, jag.

This Goose guy is a huge douche.  Ignore button.

MU Scoop ... so easy, a caveman can do it.

WellsstreetWanderer

I can't beleive how well the ladies did. Did you see the female SHAQ Tenn. has?  They played them to the lowest loss total AT Tenn. in almost 20 years

Goose

Well I guess I know what side of the Madison debate some folks are on. I actually watched the women's game last night and was pulling for them. Hope all the anti Goose guys can say they watched as well.

duycksonbikes

Goose-
It is not about whether you watched the game or not. As a sexist and/or ignorant poster on this site you made your feelings quite clear that you view the team as a "leach" on your already bloated Men's program. Personally, I would rather you not watch the games and just keep your negative comments to yourself.

Wow, I didn't think it was possible to follow up your first post with one of greater ignorance.  Well played my friend.

Avid---My apologies. Maybe the person that started the thread's handle had me believing he was a hoax. Find his screen name to be quite sexist.

Can someone stop by 4ever's place and make sure the old man hasn't died on us? It's been almost 24 hours since the game, and he's yet to ask how Gabi looked.

Goose-
My screenname was actually created by sister who is in the LGBT community and I found it to be clever being that Buycks is one of my favorite players. Instead of reading into my post why don't you congratulate the team and move on, or better yet take your ignorance elsewhere. I have been viewing this site for close to a year and all I see is you stirring the pot and creating a negative environment. If you do not want to post insightful and intelligent comments pertaining the MU athletics why are you even here?

And you didn't take the time to read the actual post? Very clear what the poster's intention was.
