Very touching.  Sounds like a great family.  Hopefully they get to see Junior live several times over the next few years.

Very nice article..good find...definitely sounds like a Buzz-guy.

I was hard on Junior earlier this season..and for that he's given me a big helping of eat sh$t - and I couldn't be happier.  Junior has shown a ton of heart and toughness..and I was wrong to be critical of him...and I'm rarely critical of our players..

Excited to see what Junior can become with continued hard work.

This kid has really stepped up. Hes got confidence, hes aggressive, and he's strong. He may be the key in the team's  recent improvement. I've got a feeling we don't have to worry about the point for the next few years. I was wrong about him.

I will never doubt a Buzz player as an underclassman.  Almost every single player has improved dramatically over the course of his career or even intra-season.

Look at Jimmy from the Dayton game in '08 where he looked clueless on both ends of the court to this season where not only is he a lethal scoring threat, but he boards his ass off and is an incredible defender.

Chris Otule is now the best defensive center we've had in years and a legitimate post threat.

Gardner didn't see the court for long stretches this season because his defense was atrocious, but now he's at the point where he gets good positioning on his assignment and understands the help concepts much better.

Cadougan looked timid and seemed to completely lack any scoring capabilities but now he sets the pace on O, defends light years better, and has converted some monstrous buckets in huge spots for us down the stretch.

Erik Williams seemed to be a ball of nerves on the court last year and even early this year, playing very timid like Cadougan.  Now he plays a key role with high energy and he's not afraid to pull the trigger.

This is why I refuse to write off Blue.  When it clicks for him, it's gonna be fun to watch.  Jamail Jones too.

When it clicks for Vander he'll be the best player we've had since Wade. I firmly believe he'll be at least as good as Wes, Rel, or Nic.

Great human interest story.  I, too, was hard on Junior early in the season.  He has improved his play 100%.  He plays much more like Butch Lee by driving hard to the basket and shooting mid-range jump shots.  Junior, keep driving hard and closing well.  You have a quick burst that is hard to defend.  Keep it up.  When you play as an offensive threat, it opens up the game for everyone and your 9 or 15 points means the difference in winning and losing.  Now especially in the sweet sixteen, play the hardest you've ever played.  Go to the hole!!!

Thank you for eating your words. I was crucified when I said I would take Jr. over Buycks any day as my PG. Nothing negative about Buycks, it isn't his position. But still people blasted me. So also thanks to Cadougan for exonerating me.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

For sure..you were on the money on this one Willie..and I was wrong.  Buycks is much better at the 2 guard for sure...

The best part of all of this is it shows how far Junior has come from early in the season.  I probably underestimated the achilles injury's lingering effects.  Junior also has gotten some great confidence from seeing his shots go in more frequently than before...he is a KEY player on THIS YEAR'S team..and a big catalyst for success.  Never thought I'd say that 3.5 months ago.
