Pretty much every NCAA at all levels has some sort of home court advantage for higher seeds.  The NCAA needs the ticket sale money.  My recollection was that these games used to be played at neutral sites, but the crowds were very poor.

Yeah. You are right just frustrating. Lots of manly looking women in the crowd at the duke game.  But I guess that isn't abnormal for duke. Also looked like there was a special bulldog section in the tenn crowd.

There haven't been all neutral sites in my recollection.  It used to be the top 16 seeds hosted and then sometime since 2000 they went to predetermined sites.  A school/location puts in a bid to host but if you are hosting and playing, you play on your home court no matter what.  So you had 11 seed Gonzaga hosting 6 seed Iowa and beating them, 6 seed Penn State hosting 3 seed DePaul tonight (DePaul came back to win) and 15 seed Utah hosted 2 seed Notre Dame - ND won that one.  11 seed Gonzaga hosts 3 seed UCLA tonight.  I think you can only host two years in a row though.

My issue is more with MU's seeding this year - they should have had a 6 and got royally hosed with an 8 seed.  Bad year for that too as all the #1 seeds are hosting this year.

It's not an ideal situation but I don't think they're ready attendance wise for true neutral sites either.

Really gutty, gritty effort by the lady warriors.  Hung right with one of the best programs in NCAA WBB.

Really impressive that they have hung around this long. Tennessee should have won this by 30. I'd love to see one more run and put both men and women into the 16, but this would be a FAR bigger upset than what the boys did to Cuse.

UT was a 25 1/2 point favorite tonight.

Gosh I was proud of how they played Tenn. so tough in their house
