The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

The next Josh Gasser?
Even more traditional than Gasser I hear. Apparently he only practices with a peach basket that Bo Ryan sent to him along with his first letter from UW.

He also has no tattoos, pledges to never get a tattoo and refuses to partake in any "three goggle" shenanigans.

That game was on Friday.

You are correct.  Assumed it was today based on the dateline of the article.  Sorry.

Zak Showalter was watching Buzz a few Sundays ago at the Providence game. Was in front of me at concessions. Very traditional and not big, but the guy can shoot. A couple people I know who follow AAU/WI HS BB say he may not have the most raw talent, but he is an extremely hard worker and gym rat. He reminds me of Deiner.

Spaniel with a Short Tail

Did Buzz have a Norman real estate guide with him? How would Zak look in cowboy boots?

Thanks for the heads up. Cool you can watch all 4 games at once.

His father also played for bo at Platteville.  But, Showalter, his dad and Fisher have been a quite a few games this year.  Buzz is definitely interested.

Wonder how much zak likes Oklahoma or arkansas

Man did they get hosed. Looked like Germantown got a time-out and possession with about 4 seconds left after a missed free throw. That's what the ref called. I thought maybe they were going to call a foul on AE when the Germantown guy was bumped to the floor. Then, after a few minutes, the refs switched it up and gave possession to AE. Then the clock didn't start for 2 seconds -- the announcer said a half-second, but they didn't show a replay -- the guy dribbled a few times, held the ball, shot an airball, then the AE guy underneath caught it and put it back in -- all in 4 seconds. Team ran off, game over.

I was at the game as well. I played with Steve Showalter in college so I was hoping to see him get to state. Germantown had to fight hard to get back into the game. Some big plays by Showalter (including a steal for a nice dunk) and a big three from their other guard put the game into overtime. In the last ten seconds of the game, the refs literally took the game away from Germantown. First,  a bump called on the perimeter with 6.8 seconds left and Germantown up 1. The Appleton East kid makes the first and misses the second. A Germantown kid gets the board and an Appleton East kid fouls him and they fall out of bounds. The ref at half court had given Germantown a timeout as soon as the Germantown player got the board, so they never called the foul. Then the refs met at half court and decided that the whistle was inadvertent, and they had to call it a jump ball with 3.8 seconds left. The possession went to Appleton East. They ran their out of bounds play, but the official scorer didn't start the clock right away. The ball was thrown into Mader. He had nothing so he gave it to Coenen. He took three dribbles to the elbow and shot a fade away jumper. He missed it short, and his teammate grab the rebound and put in a reverse layup as the buzzer was sounding. The last play had to have taken at least 5-6 seconds. Sad way for anyone to have to end their season.
