UWM misses tournament...and leaves an extra at-large spot.

Things are shaping up nicely

One thing that disappoints me about UW-M missing out was the inevitable "we've been robbed!" cries when they end up with a 15 seed against Notre Dame or Purdue. On WSSP today they were asking Howie Magner if UW-M would have a chance of an upset as a 12 or 13 seed and I almost choked. Had they made it, they'd have been lucky to get a 14. Even with this soft bubble, the idea of them as a 12 was hilarious.

Fullodds

UWM had everything set up perfect with a home game to make the dance and they went out and scored 45 pts against an average Butler team. Weak.

They get an automatic bid to the NIT since they won their conference but didn't get in based on their conference championship.  I wish Rob well in that tournament.

Both teams looked turrible for the most part. Butler looked just somewhat less turrible. Sucks for the the Panthers, but if they had played even somewhat decent they would've likely won. They should be pretty decent next year as well.

Pretty much any time that you go such long stretches without scoring, there's almost no chance that you're going to win.  I can remember them being stuck on 6 for such a long time and then once they got at 38 (and within 4 points if I remember correctly), Butler went on a run that put it away.  It seemed as if UWM ran out of gas and they just couldn't finish off that run.  I am a graduate of UWM but Marquette runs in my blood and I honestly was hoping Butler would win (but couldn't pull myself to cheer for them).  My dad was proud as a Marquette grad haha

It's really interesting that they pulled the recruiting class that butler did. Must be that great league championship that gets on Espn that was the deciding factor.
