I said 8, and make us sweat it out against another inconsistent team.  And then face a #1 if we happen to win.

Where's the "I think we've already beaten this dead horse into pulp", button?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Disagree .... this is a new poll started after the Cincy loss to gauge sentiment in the wake of that game.

Very relevant.

Even more relevant, I'm tired and getting cranky.

Actually, even though I went for 8.  I probably should have said #9.

Compare us to Wake Forest, Florida St. and Louisville last year...

http://kenpom.com/team.php?team=Florida%20St.&y=2010

Beat a few good teams, lost to a lot of good teams, and probably has a slim chance to knock off a #1.  Looks like a match no?

Voted 10 seed. Agree with you AnotherMU84.

Poll is extremely relevant.

I think the only way we don't make it is with a loss at Seton Hall and a loss to a USF/Depaul in NYC.
Warrior in the class of 2011.

Imagine how tight our pucker holes will be playing USF in the first round if we lose this Saturday....a team that we beat by one point down in Tampa.  Let's hope like hell we win Saturday because that is not a game we are going to want to play in the BET with everything on the line.

TallTitan34

I think we will make it but the seed will not be reflective of our play.  Our seed will simply be whatever works best when they seed 11 Big East teams.

This is nothing personal, and I don't mean to single you out.  But previous games and their scores shouldn't make you nervous or confident.

As an example, we beat ND by 24, and then lost by 5 to them.  By your logic, we shouldn't have been worried about playing ND the second time.  Do you suppose we will beat SHU by 19 tonight, or are you worried?

I guess my point is that previous games do not indicate future success or failure... There are way too many factors in any game to show any sort of correllation.

T-Bone

The past 3 years have been surprising with a higher seed than expected.  Hope this continues.

No correlation?  So if we played Cincy again today, you wouldn't be (more) worried about a loss?

Sure, there's an Any Given Sunday law of the universe, but Cincy was, and is, the better team.  They didn't just win on a lack second lucky shot or a bad call.  They dominated us for 40 minutes.  Prior to 7pm yesterday, it was unknown how we stacked up against Cincy.  Now we know.

Well, no.  So far we've split with all the teams we've played twice (ND, UConn), both home and away.   So, playing Cincy again I'd feel more confident about winning.  However, I am less confident about winning at SH, though I hope we do!

I know, it doesn't make a ton of sense, but I'm oddly confident about splitting again teams we've played twice.

mu_hilltopper

Ah, so based on four games that we split, that's the pattern you're going to base future games on?

Gotcha.

rocky_warrior

You were asking about a correlation, and asking about playing cincy again.  Do you have better correlation?  I figure the two other opponents we've played twice is the best one we've got.

Get yo popcorn ready!

They're so evenly matched.  Look at those post counts.

TallTitan34

I'd like to get the wingspans of each mod before I take a side.

I'd take SoCal, he is the silent ninja warrior type mod.

Agree to some extent, but let me offer another viewpoint.    Clearly, South Florida knows they can play with us as they controlled MU for what seemed like 30 minutes.  They will be riding high, this is their post season and they give us fits.  If MU loses Saturday, how tight will we be? All the pressure is on us, nothing on USF.

I'd add that in the ND game, MU played ND without one of their better players and I'm sure ND felt a bunch more confident with him in the rematch against us.  In essence, those were two different ND teams we played because of the personnel.

We need to take care of business on Saturday in the worst way.

Go Warriors!!

Ah yes Chicos being "right" is the only thing that makes Chicos happier than MU winning.  Sad.

I saved my vote.  No

As did I.

No need to run another poll. I know what the outcome will be.
