Last year's OT loss to Notre Dame was painful, but the fact that three-quarters of a sellout crowd left before they honored Lazar, Mo, and Cooby was embarrassing. Lazar alone deserved better than that, given what he did for fans and the program, but so did the little guys.

It's another 20-30 minutes after the game is over. We put a lot on these guys and get a lot of enjoyment out of watching them (sure, plenty of frustration too), and so everyone can spare that for young men who deserve a few minutes to be honored and cheered...win OR LOSE.

(Not enough? Well, traffic should lighten up after a half hour due to the jamokes who do leave right after the game.)

I always stay.

And someone is always cutting onions by my seat.

Freakin onions.

Same thing in my section, funny how that works.

Seriously though, it's pathetic how many people leave. These guys only have one senior day, make it as memorable as possible for them.

Any option to watch it for those of us that aren't in Milwaukee? Doesn't gomarquette.com put them up the next day?

do you have any idea how annoying it is to have some clown on this board give us a smugly moralistic lecture about staying after a game(esp one with 10 posts)? or a Tweet or FB for that matter about how Important this is? how an "old' alumn (read: 26 year old) can make the drive/get out of work early on a week night so therefore every student needs to do the same...

unnatural carnal knowledge it. Leave if you want. Stay if you want. Everyone has their reasons for doing either.

frack it. Leave if you want. Stay if you want. Everyone has their reasons for doing either.

The fact that you post on this board means that you are a fanatic. You should appreciate the seniors enough to give them 30 extra minutes of your time.

I don't expect everyone to stay. Some don't care and some have legitimate conflicts. But its disappointing that those who love this time can't sacrifice 30 extra minutes for these kids

I've got ~2 hour drive home after the game, and will be up by 6 the next morning.  I love the seniors and stayed for every senior night when I was living in Milwaukee, but that's just too late.

that would fall under the category of "legitimate conflict", in my opinion

I have a two hour drive and will be up by 4:20 the next morning.  It's no different then staying for the game if it started at 8:00 as most do.

You, sir, have bigger b*lls than I do.  Wish I could function the next day on 4 hours of sleep, but it just don't happen.  Cheer extra loud so Jimmy doesn't notice I'm not there, I love that guy.

Get over yourself. If you want to stay, stay. If you don't don't. I probably will, but people can do as they please

MauraDay

I have always come up for senior night from Indy when it was on a weekend, but can't now that it is the middle of the week. I love staying for the after-the-game senior portion, and am sad that I can't be there tonight. If I did get to go to the game, there is no way I would leave and miss it.

nyg

Why don't they just do the ceremony prior to the game?  Wouldn't that fire up the crowd?

TallTitan34

Do you attend the weekday games that start at 8?  If you stay for the ceremony you will still get out sooner than an 8:00 game.

reinko

Love how Ari, Victor, and Marquette09 are upset not at the idea of staying afterwards, but having someone asking them in a certain way.

Get over yourselves.  Sometimes it's just the right thing to do, and many times people forget that.  But as always, free country, do what you will.

Yup. Except its not asking. Its telling. And then telling us we're bad people if we don't. Turn-off.
