Just curious, since I only read about 2 sports locations per day (here and CBS Sports), is the CBB world surprised by this loss? I know that we were at home and favored but they have beat some highly ranked teams, granted at home.  There is no mention of this game on CBS.

What is the feeling out there from those of you that are CBB junkies and read it all?

Not a junkie by any means - but something i noticed yesterday afternoon...

Caught a bit of the ESPNU College Basketball Experts show. They did a very short preview of the game, and virtually all of it was STJ focused. I think coming off the Duke win, and the recent run the Johnnies are a very trendy team to watch and to pick. Ability to win on the road was a question - but their win over abated that concern.

I don't think the result surprised many.

SportsCenter this AM leading in to the games highlights mentioned St. Johns as the giant killers and said something to the effect of "lets see if they can do it again." I take that to mean that ESPN considers us a giant. That consideration could have been because we were at home, favored by 7 (?) and SJU's road record.

15-11. giant killers.

Yeah they fly under the radar. They are a very solid team, people just remember them as a bottom feeder that's been swallowed up by the likes of UConn, Cuse, and Georgetown over the past 10+ years

I was surprised we lost last night.  Not shocked, but I thought we'd win because we were home and we needed it more than they did and while I thought they may have been better than us, I figured they were only slightly better.

One minute into the game I knew we were in trouble because they seemed to be twice as quick as us which often looks like twice as hungry.
