GOLDY

As a senior and a leader he has to play better. He can't finish or get rebounds when we need them. This has happened way too often this season.

ecompt

I don't know what has happened to him, but he is nowhere near the player he was last year. Of course he doesn't have the players around him he had last year.

GOLDY

I think the players aroung him are better. He has went backwards. Take it to the hoop and finish or pull up for your shot.

How do you like him now?  He just put MU up by four and is going to the lin efor the and 1, with 11 minutes to go.

He might be struggling to play with his new teammates still, but when he focus's he can be dominate for a 6-7 player.

Better late than never...great last 10 minutes.  We need him for the entire game, that's where senior leadership comes in.

What did he do after that? He is a senior and needs to carry the team like Lazar did.  He might score 19 but missed a lot of opportunities. If we are going to be critical of others we must look at Jimmys play also.  Also how many points did he give up to the freshman Lamb?

We lost a ton of heartbreakers last year too.  We had a monumental collapse in our first round tournament game.  Two of the few close games we did win last year came because Jimmy Butler hit a late shot.

Are you sure Lazar did all the things you think you remember him doing last year?  I think there's a lot of selective memory going on there, because Lazar's "carrying the team" as you call it didn't produce that much better results.

I liked the play of JB last night.  Is he a leader, who knows!

To me it looked like they noticed JB was a big mismatch in the post and they went to it many times.  I thought the game last night was one of the better Butler games I have seen this year, and I think it is something he can build on.

he played great for a stretch, but the issue for me is that he has seems to flat out disappear late in games this year. In the last 7 minutes of that game last night, he was 0-3, with 1 REB, 1 TO, 3 PF (he did make 2 FTs late, after the outcome was decided). That simply isn't gettin' it done. He is the main guy that has to get it done.

GOLDY

I will take credit for Butler's play today. He must of read my post and played better to prove me wrong. (Should have put that in teal)

He came to play today and that is what we needed. Crowder and Butler were huge today. Big win - now let's keep it going.

That, or he watched the film and realized that he turned into the invisible man the last several minutes against UConn. Either way, he was the guy that needed to get it done and he sure did.
