Loss tonight.  Now we get the 3 teams ranked in the top 10.

I think UConn is a must because we match up well physically with them.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe we have beat SU as a member of the big east.  Next saturday I am bracing for the worst.

Nova looked good today and have beat us at least 4 out the last 5 times we have played them.  Figuring we should be 5-2 right now in the BE, but we are 4-3.  Could be 4-6 really quick.  Not good.

Yeah, we have lost a lot of close games though, but we surely pass the ole eyeball test.  At least we can hang our hats on that.

No, we haven't beat Syracuse. The only team we haven't. If we go 0-4, I think you can pretty much count out an NCAA bid unless we show up huge in MSG or win out. This is a crucial stretch. UConn is an absolute must-win, in the same way that Gonzaga was a must win. These four games are a lot like the four against Duke, Gonzaga, Wisconsin, and Vandy. We really needed one of those and didn't get any. Gonzaga was probably the most winnable. That's what this UConn game is. At home, a team we match up well with...we have to have it.

We better beat Syracuse, or the season is officially in the toilet.

Shocking if we score a W in any of the next 3. This team just isn't that good.

I would say we are no good away from home. Saying the team just isn't that good is wrong in my book.

We've heard a number of times that 11-7 get us into the dance.  (Although I think that only gets us to the bubble.)  -- Well, 2 of those Ws are (projected to be) UConn and SU.

Lose ANY of the projected wins and you need to replace them with wins versus teams you're projected to lose to, which is problematic for obvious reasons.

I'm not worried about the Nova game.  We're supposed to lose that .. it's only an "opportunity."    But the next two games, projected "wins" .. we go 0-2, and we are cooked.

Mr. Nielsen

Beat UCONN and the Cuse at home! I know it's a big if.

UConn yes, Syracuse no. I haven't seen any projection yet that has us beating the Orange, if we beat both, we're in line for 12 BEast wins. Win 5 of our 6 remaining home games (excluding 'Cuse), beat South Florida and Seton Hall on the road and we get to 11-7. I think additional chances for wins come against Syracuse at home, and at Georgetown and UConn on the road. We're a very good home team, so any game at the BC is winnable, Georgetown has looked susceptible in conference play, and UConn isn't the same team in Hartford that they are in Storrs.

But either way, 11-7 is just bubble, I agree completely on that.

Mr. Nielsen

You got to win on your home floor, that's uconn and syracuse this week.

Is it not part of the definition of what a good team is, the ability to win games on the road?

We drop 2-3 tough games at home every year.  Either it changes this year and we become a truly dominant home team or we get to host some more home games in March.

RPIForecast has us beating SU (although it also has us at 12 wins) .. I swear Kenpom had us beating SU earlier, but they have it as a loss today.  (At one point, Kenpom and RPIF had identical numbers .. perhaps when RPIF is updated later today, it will also reflect a loss.)

brewcity77

Kenpom's pretty consistently had us in the 44-49 range, so I can't say I'd be too surprised if we popped into the 50+ range at some point. Didn't know RPIForecast did, I hope they're right ;D . Either way, we need a split at worst. Win one and we're on track for 11-7 and hoping for a soft bubble.

We are watching different games. I see a squad that dominates at times. I still think this team is developing chemistry.

They're running out of time to develop chemistry. A late run this season probably won't mean as much because there are so many lower-tier teams there. Not much meat to build a resume on.

Good news is that we are playing better than last year at this time

Yes, I believe that it will be a 4 game losing streak, although I am hoping we kick Boeheim's ass.
