Trying to get off the ledge here. I'm going to try to look at the upside-we outplayed two very legit teams for 75 minutes out of 80. I tend to think we would've done the same for the last 5 today if Buzz didn't make a major tactical error. If that is the case, as I hope it is, we will win some big ones and be a tourney team.

Don't mean to put you right back on the ledge, but how many times does this situation needs to play out before Buzz realizes that we aren't a team that can slow it down and wait until there's less than 10 seconds on the shot clock to start to even look for a shot?  Our energy is one of the things that separates us from the rest, yet we routinely seem to forcefully take the energy out of our game once it feels as if our lead is "safe".  Happened last year in the tournament among other games, happened today, will it continue to happen?

Running clock only to get a bail out after 35 seconds is maddening. Good teams would spread it, but then attack and get a dunk or lay in. The one time we did go after it E Will missed a lay in.

I'm repeating myself, but for the exorbitant money our head coach is paid, he owes all of the Warrior community a big apology for his boneheaded coaching.

He doesn't owe you s--t.  Still like Buzz.  Still like Buycks.  Fulce is a much bigger contributor this year than I ever thought he would be.  Hope he stays healthy.  Like Junior more.  He dealt with screens (on defense) a lot better.  Team rebounded better.  Closed out on 3's better.  Throttled L'ville for 35 min until we let off the gas.  I would rate this loss right around W Virginia last year.  Would not compare it to any tourney loss.  Lost a game we should have won on the road in conference play, and you can't let road games get away.  End of game execution wasn't what it needed to be.  No excuses for losing.  Hope the L doesn't come back to bite us, and if we play at the level we are able, we should be a tourney team.

Think again. Truth told, you owe all of the Warrior community a big apology for this bonehead post.

Agreed.  He should give a public apology or be fired because MU could do so much better.  Buzz is a young coach, we're going to deal with some growing pains as he gets better, and hopefully he'll hang around and we can reap the rewards of that development.

Today's loss falls on Buzz, but looking at the overall picture...it's a fine line whether he should be criticized for losing close games or complimented for making every game a game.  It seems like we won about 50% of our close games last year, and finished games better as the season went on.  I don't believe there's a better coach for MU than Buzz.

The problem is that Buzz is NOT getting any better at managing crucial game situations.  He's always been weak at end of game plays (offense and defense), end of half situations, coming out of timeouts, etc, and none of that has improved.

I hate to say it, but I really think Buzz could use an experienced assistant, ideally a former head coach willing to impart a bit of wisdom. He is a great recruiter and motivator, but the X's and O's could use some work.

Excuse me?   End of Villanova game?  End of Washington game?  End of Louisville game?  Cast has changed from performance to performance, but the director has remained the same, and the audience is supposed to keep applauding?  I like Buzz.  I like Buycks (very difficult to blame him for yesterday's debacle).  I just don't need to hear the "...but he's a young coach" mantra after these boneheaded losses anymore.
