Did anyone just watch that UConn vs. Villanova game?  Fantastic game.  Kemba nailed a runner with 2.5 left to win it.

He and Fisher were something else down the stretch.

Three guys scored 52 of UConn's 61. Their length gave Nova some trouble when they turned up the pressure.

ND leading Georgetown by 14 with 12 to go.  They are tuff.  5 seniors.  We have our hands full with them twice.
Think ND will blow that lead?
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

I don't think us MUScoopers are giving enough credit to UConn. They'll be tougher to beat than it seems a lot of people think from posts I've read even though it's s home game.

No, but bet the house they'll get worked by MU and St. John's.

I'm working, but is anyone watching this Pitt/'Cuse game?

Pitt opened the game on a 19-0 run. I figured Pitt blowout. Syracuse answered with a 17-0 run of their own. Now it's a 3-point game with about 12:00 to play. That has to be some kind of record in terms of shutout runs.

We actually play UCONN both home and away.

I'm hoping for a split with UConn, though I'm pretty sure the away game is in Hartford, which is where we beat them last year and not as tough an environment as playing at Storrs, which draws a much larger student crowd.

Simple truth is we still need at least two quality wins out of these games:

@ Notre Dame
UConn
Syracuse
@ Villanova
@ UConn
@ Georgetown

Sadly, Georgetown is starting to look like a fool's gold type of team and by the time we see them in mid-February may not be as valuable a win as I'm hoping for right now.

And I think we also may be taking ND lightly. I know Scott is out, but they are are essentially 14-0 in neutral and home court games (including beating UConn and spanking St. John's by 15) and 0-4 in road games (including playing Kentucky in Louisville and losing to St. John's by 18). They will likely be much tougher in South Bend than they were here.
