Gottlieb posted a piece this morning ranking the Big East thus far in the following order:

1) Pitt, 2) Nova, 3) Cuse, 4) ND, 5) Gtown, 6) UCONN, 7) Louisville, 8) St. Johns, 9) MU......

He had this to say about MU: "Athletic and active, but they have lost to every good team they have played. My guess is they will leapfrog Louisville and St. John's, but it is hard to pick them until they get a solid win."

I don't disagree with him regarding MU in that we have no solid wins(thank God we won yesterday).  However, I think we have a good possibility to pass up Gtown, UCONN, Ville, and St. Johns.

Gtown:  I think is overrated and this showed against ND
UCONN:  Has 1 dominant player and they may have peaked already
Ville:  Not enough talent top to bottom
St. Johns: Give them a year

Oh, and he also rated Rutgers #14....

A loss on Wednesday would be terribly disappointing

For the fun of it...

1) Cuse, 2) Pitt, 3) Nova, 4) Gtown, 5) UCONN, 6) Louisville, 7) MU, 8) ND, 9) Cincy.

In the end, I think the BEAST has a bunch of good teams, but no great teams.

ND is much higher than 8 right now.

Im still not convinced in Cincy. Uconn I think is way overrated and a 1 man show. I feel we are better than Lousiville and St Johns.

Hopefully we can split with ND. I hate those guys.

Nova, Pitt, Cuse and Gtown are all better than us but I believe we can end up beating any 1 of them when we play them with Pitt being by far the toughest to try and upset on the road.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Curious why you would have ND ranked below MU since they beat UW and MU lost to UW?  ND is considerably ahead of MU in every computer power rating, and if you believe the human polls, them too.

Just curious.

Mine

Pitt, Cuse, Nova, ND, UCONN, G'Town, St. John's, Louisville, MU

So do 9 Big East teams make the tournament this year? Does 10-8 and 9th place get us in?

Doubt it. If we want in, we have to win 20 and have 4 quality wins.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

10-8 and 1 Big East tourny win gets us to 20. I think that would  be enough. But 10-8 and a tourny loss probably wouldn't, IMO.

It depends on who MU beats for those 10 wins and who they lose to for those 8 losses.

Not saying MU should be ranked higher than ND, but results against a common opponent is a pretty useless way to compare two teams...unless, of course, you believe that College of charleston is better than Pitt and Villanova (see results vs. Tennessee).
