If there's one thing I'd change right now, it would be this BS token pressure. How many times did this scenario play out tonight- Buycks picks up his man, chest to chest, full court. Gets beat. Either no one stops the ball, or the help rotations give up an open look.

It's completely unnecessary. Also unnecessary is guarding tight 35 feet from the hoop. All that's doing is exposing the defense to help situations. And they're not good when they're constantly helping.

Either press, or pick them up when they get to 25 feet. This limbo cost them the game tonight, IMO.

GGGG

I've been saying that all night...but for God sakes don't press all out.  That would make it much worse.

And when Junior was out there and tried to guard that far away he almost broke both his ankles.  Was really bad.

In terms of pressuing the ball 35 feet away, Buzz has stated why he does this before.  He doesn't feel we have the interior post players to stop easy entry passes.  Thus by pressuring the ball it makes feeds into the post more difficult.  Right or wrong, this is his reasoning.

I get that, and it's something I wish Crean would have done against Stanford...

But I guess I don't see the value in extending that much farther, when you could get into the guards shorts 10 feet closer and not be as exposed.
