We need help on the boards.  Hope Buzz recruits two 6'9" or taller guys to help us rebound and defend against other bigs in the BE.  Why should we continue to play at a height disadvantage.  Look at the Badgers.  Height is a good thing! Go big Buzz!

Of course, but there are very few out there and in high high demand.  Definitely go after them but the chances of landing them has been shown to be evasive for about 3 decades at MU...at least anyone highly rated.

Honestly, while a rebounder with size would be preferred, what's really missing right now are players with a fundemental understanding of how to properly position yourself for a rebound...I'd take a damn guy who's 6'5" but knows how to get in the right spot and box out (a la Lazar Hayward) at this point.

I was at the Ball State / Depaul game a few weeks ago (I know, top notch talent), there was a 6'4" fat guy on Ball State (seriously weighed about 250) that used his body so effectively that he created opportunities for their guards to pick the ball up off the floor on a miss because he'd cleared the paint...we need someone who is fundamentally sound (but, again, preferably of the taller variety - haha)

What about the German big from St. John's Northwestern?

If it was up to me, I'd take him.

What would the purpose be?

Mr. Curious

He's a senior and there's an open scholarship for the rest of the season. The kid has paid his dues with the program and it would be a nice gesture to give him one less semester's worth of tuition to pay. However, I'm not sure how it all works with his eligibility and scholarship "swapping" and so on.

bilsu

Gods Gift and Thomas would be my choices. However, I expect another guard.
It would not surpise me to see either DJO, Blue or both declare for the draft, which in my opionion would be a hugh mistake for either of them.

We need I demand two more Point Guards

Come on Willy...don't stop playing tough guy now.

NotAnAlum

I like the big German kid from from St Johns.
The kid had a typical European stroke from the outside so even if he isn't the best rebounder at least he can shoot the 3.
Also I think he would qualify as a "traditional player" which would make Chicos very happy. ;)

Great question...

Buzz would never even have recruited him.

That's not a criticism, either.  Buzz just does not put a premium on the pure ability to shoot the basketball.   He'll take the raw driving/slashing athlete every time.

The idea that Buzz would not recruit a 6'10" sharpshooter from his own backyard who is rated around the 60th best player in his class and has offers from Illinois, Florida, etc, is ridiculous.

I don't think we hold anything for 2012.  Worse comes to worse we Mbao someone I guess.

Anyway, I'm wondering if Singleton gets a scholie for his last three years.  There's your back up PG.

<cough, cough> Derrick Wilson <cough, cough>

GGGG

Wilson is more of a combo guard and will have no experience as a D1 player.  Singleton would be in his second year at MU and third in D1 basketball.

Earl Tatum

As I mentioned sometime ago---- God's Gift, and Thomas for sure.  Henley might be a great addition.

Wilson's been talked about exclusively as a point guard at Marquette, andyou'll excuse me if I keep my tamper expectations for notable Big East minutes from a walk-on who came off the bench at a low-major program. Maybe Singleton surprises, but it'll be just that - a surprise. Counting on him is like counting on Niv Berkowitz, and we all saw how that went.

DiaperDandy

I just moved to Buffalo and I had no idea God's Gift played at Erie Community College.  I am definitely going to go and watch him play a few times.  And of course, I will be rocking the marquette gear in the stands :)

I guess I am just thinking about a backup...as needed...for a year.  Wilson has a larger upside.

But maybe they just shift Blue to point instead.
