general basketball scheduling questions

What is the maximum number of games a team can schedule?  Is there a minimum?

I was looking at Miss Vall States schedule (they play the fighting Newbills next). Southern Miss only has 27 games scheduled this year. Seems strange to me.

I think it's 28 or 29 games, plus the exempt adds on to 31.

An exempt toury of 3 games counts as 1.
