What a class for Steve Lavin. That is incredibly impressive!

I'm still trying to figure out how Norm Roberts didn't get fired earlier for loading one class like that.

Norm Roberts wouldn't play the game that Lavin was willing to play.  Have to hand it to Norm for staying on the up and up.

Really have to wonder about having that much success so fast.  Especially given Lavin's poor rep as a bench coach.

GGGG

Lavin has always been a good recruiter and, if I recall, has never gotten in trouble for it.

Lavin has been making things happen since he got the job...especially when it comes to DeAngelo Harrison.

Clam Crowder

I question if Lavin is clean, but I feel like the lure of MSG and his time on TV made this recruiting class very possible.

And a boatload of playing time, that is probably the biggest factor.

All of this talent, and no PG to be found. Malik Stith will be a JR next year, but I anticipate there will be problems at the PG spot for them...

What game is that? You have no clue.

I think we can welcome back St.John's to the Big East.

Glad to see Anderson moving up.  It looks Buzz found himself a switchable willing to compete for PT with the players here already.

It will be interesting to see if DePaul and St. John's can put it together in the next few years with these recruiting classes.  It's crazy that the Big East is getting even more competitive than it has been as far as talented teams in the league.  Will DePaul and St. John's equal Marquette or will they underacheive like South Florida and Seton Hall?

Some interesting things about that list:

  • 100 recruits and not a single one who goes to a school in New York City?  Amazing.  There was one kid from New York state ... in Mount Vernon which is the NY Metro area.  I can't recall the last time there was not single kid in the Top 100 from the actual city.

  • Only one kid that goes to a Florida school.  A bad class given there are twenty million people in the state

  • Illinois, North Carolina, and Virginia each with ten recruits in the Top 100.  More than any other state.  That's 30% of the recruits from three states.

  • Arkansas, Saint John's (as mentioned), and Virginia Tech with extremely good classes

  • UCLA with only one Top 100 commit at this time.

Just because a kid goes to high school in a certain state, doesnt mean he hails from said state. For example...Maurice Harkless is from New York City, but goes to South Kent in CT.

No doubt, Virginia would not be anywhere near the list if it wasn't for the two Prep schools in the state.  Nevertheless, not good that not a single high school can produce a Top 100 kid out the largest city in the country.
