Indiana hasnt been great year after year since the days of Bobby Knight

I still think that if Indiana fans are patient enough with Crean, they will be a top-25 team and in the NCAA tourney in a couple of years.  He isn't a complete fraud.  It's just that those types of results may not be enough for the Indiana faithful.

DCWarriors04

Crean's not going to have the same kind of success at IU that he had at Marquette.

Some passages from the article that will remind some people of the past ....

And in each soul-crushing, difficult-to-watch implosion over the past three weeks, there have been glimpses of what could be...those peeks into the future have then been immediately followed by what is.

... two were gently told they should transfer (Nick Williams and Malik Story).

... As it stands right now, Indiana has to work incredibly hard for every point. With Crean's drive and kick offense, there is often too much dribbling around the perimeter as opposing defenders over-help to clog up driving lanes. Opponents can do that because there is absolutely no threat of the Hoosiers dumping the ball down into the post for an easy basket.

But there is hope ....

Next year with a full roster and the addition of Zeller and 6'6" forward Austin Etherington, the Hoosiers will be back in the hunt for an NCAA tournament berth. Then, in 2012 Crean will welcome what could be the best recruiting class in Indiana history. Five-star prospects Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell and Hanner Perea, four-star guard Ron Patterson and 6'11 center Peter Jurkin have all committed to play for the Hoosiers in 2012. That year, the Hoosiers should be in contention for a Big Ten title and possibly more.

If at that point this team doesn't look better, then you can start complaining. Until then, give Crean the benefit of the doubt. He deserves that after what he's been through so far in Bloomington.

"He deserves that after what he's been through so far in Bloomington."
Poor guy, so sad...
Truth is he created most of what he's going thru.
Have you really watched any of their games this year???
Not adjusting at all to his players strengths.
No plays set for Hulls (their best shooter).
Still no idea of how to play offense against a zone.
Players not held accountable for their on court play - see Jones and Watford.
Their defense is significantly worse than ours.
All with players he recruited.
It's almost like he forgot how to coach.

We traded up.   Still, starting from scratch in the Big ? is a huge undertaking.   But at least he's got bucks for when they run him in a few more years.

Tell me this sentence was yours and not the writers.....I skimmed the article and didn't see it but I hope an actual writer didn't write this....

How do you gently tell someone to transfer?
I thought there was no such thing as HouseCreaning...

mugrad99

not that anyone here should care, but I thought Malik Story and Nick Williams left on their own, not because they were gently being pushed out.

Considering  Story is averaging about 14 now at Nevada, I will go with the version I heard at the time, not the spin now.

rocky_warrior

So much spin I feel like I'm staring down into the toilet.
