Not that I want to see increased competition for MU - but given the storm clouds gathering between football and non-football, a St. Johns resurgence could be good for the non-football schools.

Red Storm adds Pelle to 2011-12 recruiting class
NEW YORK (AP) -- The news just keeps getting better for first-year St. John's coach Steve Lavin.
The former UCLA coach and ESPN analyst added another highly regarded player to his first recruiting class on Friday, 6-foot-10 Norvel Pelle of Compton, Calif.
Pelle did not play last season, sitting out per transfer rules, but this summer he was a member of USA Basketball's developmental national team. An inside player and shot blocker, Pelle is rated as high as No. 2 among high school players and is a consensus top 20 pick overall by the national scouting services.
The others to sign with St. John's are all considered top 100 recruits: 6-6 Sir' Dominic Pointer, 6-8 Maurice Harkless, 6-3 D'Angelo Harrison, 6-7 Jakarr Sampson and point guard Nurideen Lindsey of Redlands C.C. (Okla.).
