Surprised to see him added so late, as are many of the responders on that board. Will be interesting to see how this pans out, I have to imagine if they're bringing him in at this point it's to give him a legitimate look.

From all indications this is a move that will place him on the Rockets NBDL team (Vipers I think?)

Rockets start Kevin Martin and Aaron Brooks at Guard. Kyle Lowry(hurt for a few weeks), Courtney Lee, Jermaine Taylor, are thought to make the team. The preseason roster at guard included Antonio Anderson (memphis), and Ish Smith (Wake forest).
GM Morey is very highly thought of, and rarely makes bone headed, or ill thought moves. He also is very quiet on his trade activity-- as you've seen some speculate a trade of a backup 2-- Taylor is liked by other teams-- no real room here.
Experience with Morey would seem Rockets did this late for a reason; and would not look and cut, but D-League Vipers (for development/reserve) seems most likely.
