Does anybody have any inside information on Mitch McGary?

He is a very intriguing prospect to me--currently 6'9, 225 lbs, can play the 4 or 5. His final 5 appears to be IU, Dayton, Cinci, Marquette, and Purdue (low interest). ESPN has us at the top of his list. He is rated as either the #21 center (scout) or #21 pf (rivals), depending on the site, but is a 3star at both. ESPN has him as the #85 pf, but we all know their ratings are suspect outside the top 100. He would be an ideal fit for Marquette and seems like he would compliment our roster quite nicely and give us some versatility.

A 2011 class including him and Shaw would go a loooong way towards solving our problems inside.

He'll be leaving Indiana and attending prep school in the northeast this year and has reclassified to a 2012 prospect.

Haha ok then, nevermind. I'll file any interest in him away for a while.

Thanks for the info.

His point guard will be '11 target Naadir Tharpe this year at Brewster... and there are a number of other high major 2011 D1 guys there as well.. basketball wise, should be good.. but sounds like McGary is going there (and is a 2012) more because he has grades issues
