Skatastrophy

One of the Marquette Golden Eagles' most versatile players the past two seasons, Jimmy Butler, displayed some coaching chops as well Sunday night.

Inserting himself back into the lineup after being sidelined the past few weeks with a fractured finger, the senior forward put up 16 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out four assists to lead...

Based on what I have read on this board, I never would have guessed that Junior would win the tourney MVP.  Everyone seemed to be raving about DJO, Buycks, and Reggie.

If you had read the Scout board (which probably had far more attendees at the Pro-Am as this board seems to have more out-of-towners thn locals ), you would know that Junior has been outstanding in the Pro-Am.

actually, i have read every single post on here about the pro-am and it seemed that Junior was a leading contender from day one to win the MVP.

Every post i read said he was a true point,  some people had estmitaed he was at 60% at the end of last year based on what they had seen at the pro-am.  That he had lived up to his recruitng billing and was typically the best player on the court.  that the only other two players that could match his dominance were butler and DJO.

"Junior you can see is a playmaker but not sure if he will be the starting point, not as gifted athleticly"

"Talk to "Homer" at the Pro-Am. He is worried about the PG spot. He said looked for Buycks to play at the PG spot."

"It is pretty startling/revealing that Reggie Smith scored 30 and Junior didn't score."

"Junior Cadougan: He's not exceptionally quick, especially when compared to our other guards, but I could see him starting simply because he coordinates the offense and can get into the lane."

"Cadougan looks more and more confident every week. Very assertive with the ball, makes good decisions, and is powerful to the basket. Just needs that jumper to come along a bit."

Here are some quotes from Pro-Am threads.  Some questions about Cadougan and some half-hearted praise.  I never found one post that claimed Junior was the best player on the court, as you seem to recall.  I did find one post that mentioned Singleton looking like the best player on the court at one point.

Anyway, I am pleasantly surprised and excited to hear that Junior played so well.  I was starting to worry about our PG situation.

Mr. Nielsen

Junior got better as the Pro-am went on. I feel better now that he can be the point guard for Marquette this season.

I would of thought that DJO would of been the MVP of the Pro-Am.
If we are all thinking alike, we're not thinking at all. It's OK to disagree. Just don't be disagreeable.
