1.  Hookers for a threesome
2.  The school that my dad's warden wants me to attend
3.  Palm trees

I know you are referencing He Got Game but your 3 criteria also sound a lot like Arizona State.

Apologies to FSU.

2. Conference
3. TV Exposure

So if the same amount of PT were available, you would rather go to South Florida, DePaul, Northwestern etc. over Memphis or Gonzaga?

MUBurrow

of those five, i think i would probably say:

1. DePaul - the idea of being the guy that makes DePaul relevant again, captures the city a little bit is cool
2. Memphis - big following, some intense local rivalries
3. Gonzaga - dominates coverage in the area
4. USF - i can't really speak to how much south florida cares
5. Northwestern - no one, not even Chicago gives a damn

I guess in my head, conference and TV exposure went hand in hand.  Sure there are exceptions like Memphis, Gonzaga, and maybe now Butler.  But for the most part, its the major conferences you see on the national networks every night.

What Cheech Marin is "marketing" outside of the "Vampire Bar" in "Dusk to Dawn" is certainly #1 on any guys list......and not mentioned here!

In honesty, i if were trying to get to the nba as a top 15 recruit, i would go to a mid tier big conference school, similar to lance stephensen going to cincinatti. you get to be the guy, no doubt, get good competition, and you are not gonna wait for the other top 15 guys to graduate to get on the court.

Windyplayer

How about "Program Legacy" period. I would imagine that has a huge influence on an 18-year-old kid.

The poll was regarding high major recruits. South Florida, DPU and Northwestern don't really apply, unless they are a "high major" solely by virtue of their conference affiliation.

Being a "high major recruit" doesn't necessarily imply that you will or must choose a "high major" program.  This year "high major recruits" have selected schools like U of Detroit and Central Michigan even though they had multiple offers from "high major" programs.
