I might not be able to get to the chat.   Can somebody do me a favor and ask Cottingham:

"As we have seen with this year's World Cup, soccer is becoming more popular in the states.   With that in mind, what are your expectations for the men's soccer program going forward? Do you believe there is enough progress being seen there?"

"I'll have to check, but I'm pretty sure Marquette doesn't have a soccer team.  Next question."

One interesting note from the chat...  Uniforms will look the same next year.

And why not change the name back to Warriors.  Hooray for Dead Horses!

And football would cost $125 million to add.  So they've taken it far enough that they have an estimate *cough* *speculators* *cough*.

Stone Cold I think your question is the runaway candidate for the "received the most canned response" award for today's chat.

Good!  Think we need to roll with the same uniforms for awhile...brand identity..and we have great uniforms right now..let them roll for 5-10 years for once a la North Carolina, Kansas, Indiana, etc..

Did anyone ask about the Newbill recruiting situation?

I know that it was asked (and ignored) at least once.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

And then they erased the questions off the transcript.

Nothing about Newbill or Wilson showed up in the transcript, and mens basketball in general was barely even mentioned.  You can read the whole thing at the link at the top of this thread.

Was waiting for the Croquet Club question to get in there before this was answered.

They only posted the moderated questions.  At least that's the feeling I got.  Ask -> Review -> Answer.

Yeah that was comically weak.   I don't need him to put Bennett on the hot seat, that's apparent as it stands.  I wanted to hear if he saw MU getting the infrastructure to compete elite like St. John's accomplished, what it might take, etc.

Wasn't expecting much but the "strive for excellence" crap was a waste of cyber realty.

FYI Stone Cold, I have to be more careful at work when navigating muscoop because of your WWF clip on your signature. Not cool.

I asked about 12 questions. 8 Newbill/Wilson related- no answer. 1 golf coach resignation related-no answer. The other three were answered, although very crappily. I asked about the Unis, Natalie Kulla and about the amount spent.

Yea, it was very secretive. He quit right before the Big East Tourney, or so I was told by some of the golfers, but the Athletic Department said he simply took a "leave of absence" until the next season.

So, what's the real story?

Never found out. I was working for the Tribune trying to find out what happened but all they would say was that he quit the team.
