They will look at him, but spot up guards with limited ball handling skilss are generally not drafted in the first round.

DJO's only a junior this year, and while this thread was about 1st round picks, I did mean a long look overall.

And for what it's worth, DJO's assist to turnover ratio this year was 1.19, compared to Scottie Reynolds' 1.22 career mark.

DJO does not possess "explosive athleticism."  Ben Gordon got to the rim all the time while at UConn... when DJO puts it on the floor, he gets in trouble a lot simply because he's not explosive.  Furthermore, Gordon is a much better ball handler.  He can play the point when he has to...and in fact did so often at UConn.  DJO cannot do that.

To follow this up...

Also, to point out the differences between the two as far as their games go, DJO got to the line 96 times last year.  Gordon was up around 180 his last two years at UConn.  Gordon is much more explosive...and he has to be considering his size.
Gordon does not play the point in the NBA..he's always playing the 2.  I'll have to disagree with you about DJO's athleticism - I think he posseses a good deal of explosiveness.  Buzz has said, and its evident in watching - if we need someone to "go get one," DJO was the best option.  So, Buycks goes 6'3", yet DJO is shorter, yet more effective at creating his own shot.  DJO was in his first season of Big East basketball last year.  He was what, 19 last year?  Give the kid 2 more years in the MU program..and I stand by my statement, that he will be a Top 20 draft pick in the NBA.  DJO's body is already practically NBA ready..he's far more physical already than Jerel ever was at MU.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

Love DJO.

But, I'll say Jimmy.

He's incredibly efficient. An improved/more aggressive jump shot would make him very tough. He's have to prove he's quick enough to play 3 in the NBA, but I think he can do it.

DJO or Crowder. I doubt that Jimmy will be drafted in the first round unless he has an amazing season next year.

No DJO or Butler mentions here.  Katz listed 68 players to watch for in next year's draft.
