Apparently, the way this new television deal would be set up, Texas, A&M and Oklahoma split the two shares that would have gone to Nebraska and Colorado.

However, there *is* no deal.  Just projections...no contract.

And to make things even more interesting, Texas Tech has yet to sign on the dotted line because they are apparently peeved that UT and A&M are getting sweeter deals.  My guess is that they will eventually sign on, but it would be interesting if Tech decided to still head to the Pac Ten instead.

I wonder if they will stay together just one more year to force Nebraska and Colorado to pay the buyout fee.

Im so disappointed in the Big 12. This is just temporary, they should just get it over with and blow it up. A&M  wants out, and their fans are NOT happy at all about this, feel like they're getting lead around by the Longhorns again.

I've also heard that the penalty payments from Colorado and Nebraska will go to Texas, OU and A&M only, and that they set up the revenue sharing on a three tier system (with Mizzou and Kansas sitting behind Texas Tech and Okie State).

Its just pretty insulting as a life long fan of the Big 12. At least when we had 12 we had the Big 12 North to win, and had a one-game shot at the conference championship. The ability to win the Big 12 just got a whole lot harder for any team not named Texas and Oklahoma.

And Texas and Okie just got an easier shot at the national title now as their path got easier.  No more Nebraska, no more conference championship.

Yep! I was honestly rooting for the thing to blow up, and I've basically grown up with the Big 12. Kansas State would have looked so much better in the Big East or even the Mountain West (along with Kansas) then in the Texas Ten Conference (ya know, that one conference with Texas...and nine other teams)

And some people wonder why Nebraska wanted out.  No one can touch the hegemony of Texas.  It's very interesting that A&M is getting fed up and Oklahoma is their lap dog.  The Big XII will be done by 2016.

2016 is a looong ways away. Doubt it gets past 3 years before the rampant speculation starts up again. I dont blame Nebraska at all, know a lot of MU people from Omaha, this is all Texas...and A&M was soooooo close to forcing Texas to be equal with other members of a conference.
