...not that I disagree....but your "guard's game" posts are as sure a thing as death and taxes. Perhaps one day, the dead horse you have beaten will completely disintegrate and you will find yourself with nothing left to beat.

Maybe if it is beat enough we will get the glue we need to hold this team together.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

when our lifetime contracted $1.8 mil/season coach recruits and keeps on the roster what is needed to win in March.

It sure seemed to work for the 1st 10 min of the game.

The most frustrating fact is that we are better than ND
You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

It's so funny, the guards game anti-posts have come out 8 times this year...they are nowhere to be found the other 22 times.

::)

No one has ever said we don't need good big guys as well, but I'll continue to take the recommendation of 15 Hall of Fame college basketball coaches (or soon to be HOF) that say it's a guards game.

You're a bright, educated young man. Don't take anyone's word for it. Open your eyes, observe, think for yourself. After doing this, can you honestly hold to your position?

I had my eyes open when we beat Pitt who arguably has the best big men in the conference, or certainly top 3 teams.

I had my eyes open when we played we beat Louisville at Louisville and also lost to them on a miracle shot, they have good big men.

Providence...same.  Nova...same.  All have better front courts then we do, yet we beat them all.

Etc, etc.

I would love better big players to go with our guards, who wouldn't.  Our guards will get us into the NCAA tournament again this year.  Will we go far, that really depends on how we shoot more than anything else.  If our guards could shoot better...hell even 43% we would be practically unstoppable.  Unfortunately we don't shoot very well.

When we lose, it's usually because we don't shoot well not because we are somehow manhandled in the paint.  Not always the case with every loss, but most of our losses we have shot under 40%.  Guess what, we shot 36% today.  That is what loses games for us.

Yep, 36% will get you an L. Why is the percentage so low? The guards are forced to heave up jump shots because there is no inside presence. Put ND's big guy, Prov's Hill, Pitt's Gray, or Georgetown's Hibbert on the Warrior squad and now you'd see the FG percentage increase and this year's team would be a major threat to do some serious dancin'.

We do need better inside play to take it to the next level but your hatred for Crean makes your posts difficult to take seriously.  Who cares how much he is paid.  We have come a long way from where we were when he was hired.  I was plugging in the schedule for TC's first year on Wiki and man did we suck.  We finished the season at 15-14 and lost games where we scored 48, 52, 54, 35 and 49 and that was in Conference USA not the Big East where we finished fourth last year and probably fifth or sixth this year.  Not too shabby but I do agree that we need better inside play to take it to the next level.

Chico----whether we have won or lost----opposing bigs have been our achillies heel -----and the lack of an inside postup game is an obvious missing link in our offense------look at the top 4 teams in the BE this year they all have one thing in common----a strong postup game-----look at UCONN last year and runnerup PITT same thing. NOVA last year an exception-----but they had 2 first round NBA picks plus a second rounder all in the same year at guard.

Had NOVA had a strong big----they may well have gone all the way last year!

Every team in last years final 4 was stud orientated!
