Good article. 6 pages. Buzz, no TC, Warriors aka NBDL West GM Riley, his HS coach Nd bro are interviewed.

"Wes Mathews has to give Dominic a pretty good feel. He's just as undrafted as Dominic was, but he got in the right system. He plays hard on defense, he does the itty bitty things really well and he's going to have a career in the NBA."

Amen. Wes is the best advertising there is for DJ and Lazar. I go back and forth on whether DJ could make it in the NBA. This summer is everything for him. Will Bynum was in Europe and is doing well with the Pistons. That's probably the best comparison.

I hope to see him back in a Bucks jersey this coming year.  With the likelihood that we will lose Luke Ridnour, James should easily be able to beat out Royal Ivey for a spot.  There was also a lot of talk about the Bucks possibly going after Wes if they lose out on Salmons.

Also, am I the only one surprised that out of the 3, it appears that McNeal will be the one who doesn't make it?

I'm not.

I feel like a mook saying it because it seems like a hind-sight is 20-20 thing, but I was always most confident in Wes at the next level. Between Nic and Rel, I thought Nic had a better shot because I figured that there was a roster somewhere who needed a point guard who could come in for 5-10 minutes and not turn the ball over while playing some decent defense, which is precisely what Nic brings to the table. I thought Rel was a longer-shot because there are dozens of scoring 2s with a better shot, better decision-making, and more size than him.

I'm the guy currently sky high at 38,000 ft. But you sound like you're higher than that on something else. DJ is not an NBA player. As for Wes, he restricted and won't be going anywhere. Will stick with my early thought of 12-15 mil over 3-4 yrs.

4Ever, where you at?  I'm mid-flight too, from HOU to ATL.

I don't necessarily think that Nic will make a team, but figure he's got at least a fighting shot to catch on in the right situation.

is their actually a solid chance that the bucks go after Wes or Dom?
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

They are definitely going to need depth at the PG and SG positions.

I expect the Bucks to address the SG (James Anderson) and PF/C positions in the draft. But then if Salmons opts out, they are going to need to add someone via free agency.  Wesley is restricted, so the Jazz can match any offer that another team makes. As much as Sloan gushed over him this year, I would be surprised to see him leave Utah.

lets be real..Wes is no replacment for Salmons....please.

Never said, nor implied that.  Even if the Bucks add a SG in the draft (hopefully James Anderson), and then come free agency, Salmons opts out...they are still going to need to add someone via free agency or trade.

martyconlonontherun

If the Bucks lose Salmons and Ridnour and get James and Wes, they are screwed. I don't think James had a legit shot to make the team last year. I think it was just giving him a chance to play the summer league team, since the roster was practically all guaranteed.

I hope DJ's shot has improved.
It's the one major liability he's had to get into the NBA.

The combination of very poor free throw shooting and a tendency to shoot the 3 when he's in trouble give me severe doubts about James' NBA future. If he can work hard on fixing his deficiencies he has a chance, but having not seen much improvement in his 4 years at MU, I'm a skeptic.

Nice article. I was nowhere near that mature at his age.

As far as making his NBA dream come true, I'd feel better about his chance if I'd read that he's hired a shot doctor and is now putting up 500 jumpers a day.
