Tough to call TMG an early entry.  More like no college coach is willing to put up with his crap.

dominique jones is an idiot if he signs and agent and goes
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Half of those players will not be drafted and will be back in college ball next year.

disagree. he reminds me a lot of manny harris. those guys might not be lottery picks or anything this year, but what more can they do in school?  they can each show their ability to take over a game, etc for another year, but both are on uncertain and lower end teams.  they will have to fight for roster spots no matter when they leave, so they gain more by having an extra year of "potential" than staying in school for another year to again lead a crappy team in a bunch of statistical categories.

Corrected.

I believe when Jones declared, he posted on Facebook or Twitter, something to the effect of "It's time to get paid..."

One thing to remember...it may look foolish to us if a marginal guy declares but it may not always be up to them. A player may not be welcomed back by the coach...academics may be an issue and the player may not even be eligible for next year...their handlers are still involved and they are ready for their piece of the action.

I think it would be best for Willard to get the clowns out of there that Gonzo brought in.  Mitchell clearly wont be back, but having Robinson and Pope go pro might be best for the program.

The other issue which tends to get glossed over is that many of these players don't really have expectations of making the NBA this year, but are looking to get experience for the process for next year.

For this reason, it would not surprise me to see Jimmy Butler declare.  Its more of a long shot with the earlier withdraw deadline of May 8, but as long as he doesn't hire an agent, why not start speaking with NBA teams and find out what he has to work on in the coming season?

Under the old system, where players had until mid-June to pull their names out, I would agree with you regarding Jimmy Butler "testing the waters."

With the deadline now 5 weeks earlier, NBA teams are only going to give looks to guys that are serious.

"It's time to get paid..."

This is obviously the motivating factor for most players and it is completely understandable.  Athletic careers are largely a crap shoot if you aren't in the top 1%.  For most players with borderline NBA ability, low income families, and little to fall back on, it is worth the risk.  I have no idea if Jones fits this criteria, but barring serious injury, he will be getting paid to play basketball somewhere next year.

Did Manny Harris even have a good season? And will any of those Seton Hall players get drafted?

Caracter. I'm sure Pitino is laughing.

Caracter had a pretty good year for UTEP, and ended the season with 20 and 9 against a Butler team that's playing OK these days. Given his size and skill set, it wouldn't be a surprise if he's drafted.

James Anderson is from Oklahoma State.  He had a monster game against Kansas.

Hitler should have paid attention to that game before making out his bracket!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

State Street Warrior

As the deadline is getting closer a few are starting to withdraw.  I figured we may as well bumb this to keep it all in one place.

ESPN is sayinig Hazell and Robinson from Seton Hall are coming back.
http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation   (Also some talk of Pope's recovery)

Rumor is that Jones from USF might be coming back and that Hayward from Butler will stay in.
