A heretofore (I think) unreported dimension to the Kevin Noreen recruitment is Noreen v. 2.0.  In other words, Kevin has a younger brother named Kyle who is a junior on the Minnesota Transitions Charter high school team.  Here is some information that I found which had been posted on February 17th.

"Kyle Noreen is a 6-5 junior wing for MTC high school, and will play the guard or small forward spot in college depending on which program he eventually signs with. His older brother Kevin is a 6-10 forward currently playing for Boston College (sic), and is the current state of Minnesota all time scoring champion, and average (sic) well over 30 points a game his senior year. As a junior for MTC, Kyle is averaging 18.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 8.6 assists, and 5.1 steals per game while shooting 54 percent from the floor this year. (redundent)

Kyle is a multi-tooled player with good ball handling, perimeter shooting, very good hops and (is) a solid defender. The big question on (concerning) Noreen has more to do about (is) the level of competition (he faced) at MTC high school and (how well) he will adjust to the speed of the D-1 game.

Noreen also spots a 4.0 GPA and that has drawn the attention of a wide variety of schools. (Really, all these schools want him to play basketball for them because of his GPA?) Noreen, I hear, currently has two offers on the table from Liberty (Dale Layer) and U. of Lafayette La., but (he also) has interest from New Mexico, Vanderbilt, VCU, Cornell, Harvard, Montana, Drake, Northeastern, Boston College, Wisconsin, Virginia, Stanford and a few more."

I believe that the writer was from the University of Montana which may not have a writing intensive English major.  It's interesting to see that reportedly Wisconsin is sniffing around, but not Northwestern.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

4.0 GPA? Not smart enough to make it at Madison.

Interestingly enough, the Minnesota Transitions Charter High School is a very small private school known more for its academics than for its basketball.

I love the corrections... especially calling something 'redundent'.

Kyle is a lot smaller and not as talented as Kevin... fun games this weekend in the Twin Cities though.. his Minnesota Pump N Run team lost in double OT to the Iowa Barnstormers in a 17U championship game (Jarrod Uthoff!).  Kyle is a nice player, but not at the same level as Kevin.

Duke has the Plumlees, UNC has the Wears, and Marquette will have the Noreens.  I like it.
