James Siakim: Lost Another One

This fellow from Carbondale, Il., a 6'6" PF, picked vandy over us and a couple other schools. It was reported that we were recruiting him.

You should be happy.   You didn't want another undersized PF anyway.   We already have 7 guys > 6'6" on next year's roster.    Unless somebody has already told Buzz they are leaving, I am content with next year's roster.

But people keep posting that Buzz is actively recruiting a big for next year: Deng, Noreen, Cothron, Murphy, Gardner, etc.

I just happened to read that Siakim signed/committed. My happiness has nothing to do with this.

We did not lose another one.  If he stayed 2011, we might have pushed farther.  Because he went 2010, we didn't have room for him.  We need a true big and that is what we will get.

Does there always have to be at least one person that thinks/posts that we lost a player whenever someone we are mentioned with goes to another school.  Were we interested?  Yes.  Were we interested in giving him an unconditional scholarship offer now? No.  Can't really call it a loss or a miss.  Dieng is a loss.

wow, by these standards Buzz must have 40 - 50 losses in the recruiting trail by now...
