On the baby-blues I just now noticed that the "Marquette" lettering was changed (and the numbers got a little darker).  The lettering remained the same on the White and Gold jerseys as it had been in previous years.  I have to say that I like the darker lettering/numbering.

Apparently it happened last year... here's a pic of Jerel wearing the "new" jersey vs L'ville

I'm pretty sure the "Marquette" has always been different on the Baby Blues...

jaybilaswho?

it has been different the block lettering is what the logo looks like in the games while the more 'flowing' marquette on teh baby blues is what you can buy at the spirit shop.

SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

I don't even actually watch basketball.  I just thought this forum was nice so I started hanging around.  Lets go get some basketball points!!

That image is the jersey sold in stores.  The actual baby blue jerseys have always had a different font.

Is that smoke coming out of Jerel's mouth?

I dont get this... anyone else?

After thinking about it... I get it. Your talking about what happened over in Belgium. I thought you meant in the picture. Sorry- its a friday and my coffee hasnt kicked in yet.

But while this topic is being discussed, does anyone know why the font on the Baby Blue's is different?

I think I've read on here that it was a last minute switch by Crean because he thought the block lettering had a more retro look to it.

That figures. Just like changing the nickname to Gold. The hits just keep on coming from that genius.

I think when you can see these side-by-side it shows how much better the "retro" block letters look on the game jerseys.  I think TC got it right on this one.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

+1  The flowing letters just have too much going on for the baby blues.  The block letters look better in my opinion.

Real men wear tights!

DAMN, how do you get the pictures to appear up above?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Instead of attaching the images to a post I do the following.

1.  Search around for what I'm looking for on Google Images

2.a  Click on one of the images in the results and click the "See Full Size Image" link at the top.

2.b  Conversely, if you find an image randomly you can Right Click the image and then click "View Image" in the menu that comes up (assuming you're using Windows).

3.  At this point you'll be viewing just the image without all of the extra stuff from the web page it was displayed on.  The URL in your address bar will look something like this (note that it ends in JPG, that's a common image file type on the internet):  http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0dKG24o26F35I/340x.jpg

4.  Now you have everything you need.  Copy the URL and paste it in between image tags on these forums.  Image tags look like this (without the periods in there... I did that so that the tags show up instead of trying to display an image:  [.img] pasteYourUrlHere[./img]

That way you'll end up with this (quote my post to see what the image tags + the copy and pasted look like if you're having trouble picturing it):

SMACK DAT ASS!!!

Yee, Haa!

He is from Texas, ya know.

Skatastrophy,

As my deft swiping of your avatar demonstrates, your instructions were very good.
Not bad for a guy who spent his MU years in Johnson Hall rather than the engineering building.
(In my best Elvis accent) Thank you, thank you verrry much.
