From CBS' Gary Parrish

The Big East is losing two of its best underclassmen.

Syracuse's Wesley Johnson (according to the Syracuse Post-Standard ) and West Virginia's Devin Ebanks (according to sources) are making themselves available for the NBA Draft. Neither is expected to withdraw by the deadline. Both will make formal announcements later this week.

Johnson was a finalist for most National Player of the Year awards after averaging 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. He's a projected top 10 pick. Ebanks averaged 12.0 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. He's a projected first-round pick.

The NBA Draft is June 24 in New York.

Wes Johnson: Great example of how a system can effect a player's contributions on the court. I watch a ton of college basketball and never heard of the kid during his two years at Iowa St. He goes to the Cuse and blows up. The right system + athlete = maximization of potential.

I read that he didnt like ISU because they ran over 40 different set plays. He said Syracuse runs no more than 12....and that's if they actually have to set up the half court offense. "Keep it simple stupid." Let the players play...

I am sooo glad we had only one year of Wesley Johnson and that beyond irritating smirk of his.  I think him and Gottleib should have a "smirk off".  Sponsored by Smirnoff?

Haha...what's with the Syracuse Smirk? Melo had it. Donte Greene had it. Jonny Flynn had it. Wes Johnson had it. It must be a first round pick thing.
