Hayward taking part in Final Four festivities

Marquette Golden Eagles senior forward Lazar Hayward will take part in ESPN's Slam Dunk and Three-Point Championships and Reese's College All-Star Game on Thursday and Friday in Indianapolis.

Hmm... Slam dunk contest? I'd rather he go in the 3pt shootout.  Maybe he will surprise all of us, but I cant really ever recall a creative dunk from him. Yes some powerful ones, but not even a reverse over his 4 years. You'd think he would have the 2 hand reverse down after playing 3 years with DJ.

I think I'll go watch him in the college all-star game on Friday.

Dunk contest field announced

Here's Lazar Hayward's competition for the slam-dunk contest to be televised Thursday night on ESPN:

While Lazar certainly had some important dunks this year, I see him as a better 3-pt shooter than a dunker. How did the selection happen? Do they pick the players for the "all-star" game and then 'assign' some of them to either the dunk or 3-pt contest? I hope he can find those infrequent hops for the dunk contest.

Allegedly, they contacted him and he requested to be in the 3pt field. It was filled, so he politely declined. They then sent him this dunk, and he changed his mind
