Per ESPN. Never really seemed too likely for us. Oh well.

I thought the problem with him was academics and he would not qualify for MU.  I guess Auburn solved this problem.

If you were to believe everything that is written by the cool people, half of the people who turn down MU do so because of academics. Strange.

I always like the idea of a top 35 recruit, but a lot of the stuff I read elsewhere about Cothron set off warning bells. I think he could have been a great addition to the program, but it sometimes sounded like he might have been more trouble than he was worth. Either way, I'm not nearly involved enough to say any of that for certain, and I definitely wish him the best. Glad he at least considered MU...maybe he will have some positive words for a younger brother that thinks moving to Milwaukee might be the thing to do.

I live two miles from Auburn's new arena, and they have replaced one of the worst Division I arenas with a great venue, and brought in a great coach.  He seems to be doing a pretty good job of running around Alabama first and pinning down the top talent here.  I do have season tickets to Auburn too, so will enjoy watching him play here, but obviously hoped to see him on my trips to the Bradley Center instead.  I'd like these guys to realize that if they go to the SEC, outside of Kentucky and Vandy, then all 8 million football players on campus are much more important than them, unlike Marquette, where they can be the star.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

Here is my first post agreeing with AnotherMU84.  As you say Golden Avalanche strange.  My read from what I had heard regarding his recruitment, leads me to believe not only did MU probably not accept him, but we probably never would have been a school of interest to him, if he hadn't had significant grade problems.

Since joining the Big East, MU can no longer accept Prop 48's.  Does anyone know if this is also a limitation for the SEC?  It's hard for me to believe that it would be.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Lil,
There wouldn't be an SEC if they didn't.
