He said he likes MU in the East but that means absoutely nothing given his explanation.  He said he questioned MU before the Big East tourney and given our unbalanced schedule ("They didn't play the top teams in the league."???)  Doesn't look like he knows how the BEast scheduling works.  Oh well.

Yeah, I heard that too... don't know what he meant by "they didn't get to play everyone in the Big East like the top teams"  He probably just doesn't follow them that closely usually.  He likes Hayward and Butler though in particular and how hard we play, which is a good compliment from anyone.

Except for Van Pelt and that panel of 8 analysts, it seems as though the majority of so called "experts" have been picking Washington. Accuscore on espn.com also has us being the underdog although seeded higher as well. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing to be looked at as the underdog. I think it's going to be an extremely tough game and one that a lot of people on this board seem to be taking a little lightly due to Washington fans stating how good they are. I don't think they are quite as good as their fans are saying but I think they are better than what most of our fans think they are. Just my two cents. Either way, I'm a bit nervous about this game already.

I am not sure who thinks this game is a lock.  Our team is perfectly capable of losing any game.  But our team can play very well and beat the top teams in the country and even when they are off, they can still hang tight and beat some above average teams.  Out of all the 11 and 12's, I think we got a more favorable matchup.

I really don't think too many people are necessarily "over looking" UW.  We know they are a talented team and I for one am also nervous about this matchup, but I agree that it's the most favorable for us.  It's all going to be tempo if you ask me and I believe it's a lot easier to slow down a game than it is to speed it up.

muguru

If you really think about it, there has not been a game all year(at least off the top of my head) where MU has NOT controlled the tempo. So to think UW all of a sudden will is probably not realistic. If the game gets to slow for them, they will press MU and try to force TO's and to speed up the game....good luck with that. The press doesn't faze MU. Ask Louisville. :)

I want this quote to serve as a reminder to the vast majority of scoop posters in regards to the MU BB program.

How about @UW, GT in BET, ND.... These are 3 teams off the top of my head where the other team has controlled the tempo against MU and beaten us

I would say that those teams played at OUR tempo (maybe UW played EVEN SLOWER), and just beat us at our own pace.  I don't think they forced us to play at that pace.

Isn't the whole point of a fan forum is to throw out what we, the fans think for anyone who is willing to listen to us and so we can debate with one another?

I do have faith that we will be ready for this game...

The Wisco game is tough because both teams are rather slow and always do half court sets essentially.

Just a thought- Louisville did not press MU until the 2nd half and it did result in a few turnovers. The press the Card's ran earlier in the game was token pressure.  MU is in good hands when Acker handles the ball when pressed-However, I am a bit concerned about Cubby, Buycks or DJO handling the presd if Acker gets into foul trouble.
