Perhaps Jamil will get on the MU bandwagon?  I say come on back home Mr. Wilson.

Well, he was fired.  I've seen him play a lot this year via the Pac Ten games.  I'd call his season very up and down, typical for a freshman.  I'm not sure he's got it.  He seemed to be a stud as a sophomore in high school and ever since has sort of slipped in the rankings, etc.

PJ Carlesimo is rumored to be interested in the job.  Clearly a "name" coach in the college ranks, but who knows how he'd adjust back to the college game after coaching "pros" for the last 15 season.

Considering our roster makeup and scholarship situation, I dont feel that Wilson would really fit in at MU.  We are actively recruiting depth up front. If Buzz is going to add another to this class, I would much rather it be some size, not another wing.

Oregon is opening up that new arena this next season. Are they going to open up their wallet and use some of that Phil Knight cash to go after a top flight coach? That program could be a powerhouse under the right coach. They've got a great campus, deep pocketed donor(s) and they seem committed to athletics. Surprising they're not better yhan they have been.  Plus have you seen their cheerleaders?

I'm still here, so obviously not.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Agreed.  Not worth "finding" another scholarship and getting no return until 2011-12 for a player who doesn't seem to bring anything to the table that we don't already have.  If we had an open scholarship and could honestly say there wasn't a player out there who would give us anything next year, then perhaps.

I've got a relaible source that says Jamil has been thinking about leaving Oregon for a while and that we may be on his short list. I guess we'll see what happens....

More than watch. He is an Oregon alum and Oregon has beyond DEEP pockets.

Yeah, I will be surprised if Oregon doesn't do whatever is necessary to get him there.

I'm not really sure what he would bring to the table.

Honestly...I don't think he adds anything either. But I've got faith in Buzz and if Buzz wants him...Who am I to argue! :)

The upside is he gets a year to mature, get acclimated to MU, a winning team, a new system, academics and the following year a more mature Jamil can certainly make a contribution.  He's got potential, and if he wants to 'bring it' he might just help us.  Also, having local talent i think, is a plus.

Nothing to do with the coach but Oregon cheerleaders were voted best looking in either SI or ESPN the Mag. Players voted for Oregon before they were even given options. Wow. While PJ would be a big name most people in the 16-22 age group know him as the guy who got choked by Spree, not as the once successful coach.

We already have a bunch of guys like him.  He's a 6'6" swingman...like Jamail Jones...Vander will probably fill that role too.  Furthermore, who's going to leave?  We don't have a schollie available so someone will have to go, and we don't get anything in return for next year.

I'd rather Buzz focus on a new freshman for 2011-12 for that position.

A 6-7 wing that has guard skills and is that athletic.  If we had a spot I would take him.
