Any more haters on Acker?

I'll be honest, up until around January I hated Mo. This year he's hit his threes, controlled the game and handled the ball extremely well. To be honest he's my most surprising player by far on the team.

Do you think if DJ never got hurt last year Mo would have ever been as solid as he is this year, playing a lot of minutes against top 10 teams?

mugrad2006

I don't know how much those few games helped last year, but I wish we would have seen the Mo of this year with that team, I do realize it's a bit unfair to ask a guy averaging <5 mins off the bench to come out and contribute 3/4 way through the season.

I keep thinking about how if Mo had played in the Missouri game last year with the confidence and offensive aggressiveness we've seen this year, we would have won that game. He was key to breaking Missouri's press, but then never looked to score himself when we had numbers.  He just pulled it up and we ran the half-court offense.  1 assist, 1 turnover, and 0-2 shooting.

Just goes to show how far he's come this year.

His play has been outstanding, he rareley turns the ball over.  I never thought I would say it, but we will dearly miss him next year.  I don't know if Cadougan is actually this bad, or if he is just not 100%.  He literaly does absolutley nothing with his minutes.

I don't really see much opportunity for Cadougan right now, we aren't really running the offense through him much even when he is out there.

We must have one of the lowest TO's per game in the nation.

I think Cadougan on the floor looks a lot like Acker at the end of last year. They are having a tough time leading the team and fitting in with the other players who get more minutes and are better offensive options.

My hope is that Cadougan next year will be closer to Acker this year. He'll know that he is the principal option at the point, and the team will be more familiar with his style of play.

Anyone ever think they'd see someone say "My hope is that Cadougan next year will be closer to Acker this year." at any point, ever?  Imagine if someone said that before Cadougan went down.  Nice job by Mo to get us all thinking that.

If you look at Acker's career numbers, every year he's improved his A/T ratio.

In running the point last year over the last 4 games (DJ hurt), he had a 2.67 A/T ratio.

As for Cadougan, he'll get there.  He's not getting enough game minutes to be as effective as he can be.  He's looking sharper each time he's out there and there's no reason to not expect that to continue over the next 3+ years.

7th in least turnovers: 10.4/gm
6th in A/TO ratio: 1.47
6th in TO Margin: +4.3

Jr, is so limited in what he can do right now it is taking him out of rythm.  He was best at getting done the lane and either finishing or dumping it off.  right now he is not physically ready to finish in the Big East so what does he do?  That is why Acker almost never drives.  The difference is Acker is a good 3 point shooter so he can drift on the peremiter and let butler, DJO, and Lazr kick out to him.  Outside shooting was not Jr's strongest part of his game so he cannot really do that either.  He will make a Jimmy butler type jump from this year to next year.

That is also why Acker's assist to TO is so high, he does not ever make the tough pass that makes us end up with a real easy shot.  most of his assists are on the peremiter or just moving the ball up the floor in transtion.  He is not flying down the lane in traffic.  He has played well.
