With the win against St. John's, MU can now feel certain that they are in the NCAA.  For most of us, that was the goal at the start of the season and it has been realized.  Its a testament to the players and coaches and despite some glaring weaknesses, they finished 5th in the BE and are in the NCAA.
From this point, MU will not play with the pressure of being the favorite.  I think this team will fare better as the underdog and I'm hoping and believe they still have another win or two left in the season.

A bit premature.

Scenario 1:  We win our game against Villanova, and Syracuse loses to Georgetown--we'll be the favorite in the semi final against GU.

There is also a possibility (if we get that far) of facing Seton Hall, Notre Dame, Louisville or Cincinnati in the Championship game.  As the higher seed, we'll be favored against any of those teams as well.

Scenario 2:  We win the BET.  We'll definitely be in the top half of the NCAA bracket. To give you some idea on where the Big East puts an underdog that wins the BET:  2006.  Syracuse finished conference season 7-9 and tied for 9th.  They ran the table and earned a 5 seed.

Let's say we draw someone like Northern Iowa in the NCAA's?  What would the line be on that game?

I think we have a great chance to beat Villanova.  We played them extremely tough the first two times, and it is very very difficult to beat the same team 3 times in a season.

Very very difficult?  Based on ... what?  We can beat anyone on any given day, but if we play like we did today, we'll get blown into the Atlantic.

I know we've played them tough the last three times we played them, but player for player they are better. We would have to play infinitely better than we did today to get past Nova.

Agree...plus the "very difficult" thing is an overused cliche.  A team that wins the first two wins the third meeting 70% of the time.  It's not like it's impossible for us to win, but we have to play better, have Butler and DJO come to play, and not get outhustled when we're on D like much of the second half today.
