This team has a ton of talent.  That's why I'm still concerned about the potential of our first game being against them.  But against NB they looked absolutely awful.  I just don't understand how guys that talented can play sooo badly in a game that probably pushed them out of the dance.  We've been talking about BE coach of the year.  Maybe there should be an "anti" coach of the year.  If there was, Calhoun would win it hands down (ok I know he was out a few games).  Once again he's managed to take great talent and under preform.

Blackhat

I don't know but Calhoun looked like he was going into cardiac arrest during that game.

ND played real tough d or Uconn had no emotion.

If you're debating anti-coach, Roy Williams must be mentioned.

I agree that it's astounding how they do not play better with such talent. Dyson, Walker, and Robinson alone are more talented than most of the teams they are losing to.

That game was really crazy.  It looked like MU v UL.  Should be a interesting game on Saturday

Walker could be awesome next year.  He has flashes of brilliance this year, but he still disappears for long stretches of the game.  I'm not looking forward to seeing him in future seasons :(

I love Calhoun, but the last couple of years UCONN has underachieved for the level of talent they have on their team. They don't seem to have much of an offensive plan game in and game out.

Now I only watched 5 - 10 minutes of last nights game but have watched many of UConn's games and it seems that their offense consists of Dyson and Walker passing it back and forth at the perimeter and either driving and taking an off balanced shot or just jacking up a 3 pointer. Last nights game is an example of that.

Of the 48 shots that UCONN took 26 of them belonged to Walker/Dyson, while 6 of them are Gavin Edwards, whom I think should get more touches down low. Edwards seems to only take shots when he gets rebounds, hence on putbacks. Stanley Robinson - well he has disappeared and seems disinterested unless he gets to dunk (4 shots last night in 35 minutes). The team is immature in the way they play, wild shots, questionable passes, and dumb fouls.

They are a poor shooting team, they don't react quickly on defense and just clog the paint, and I believe that this team needs a breath of fresh air. Calhoun has been a great coach and has earned the right to leave at his own accord, but I think a new reign in UCONN will come in the next 2 years.

I think Calhoun has given up trying to coach this bunch. They are clueless and selfish and have zero chemistry. I would not be surprised to see him walk away at the end of the year. UConn has always had as much if not more talent than anybody; the only games in which he has outcoached the olther guy is when he came up against Coach K.

UCONN better be done as far as any invitation to the Dance.

Agree 1000%.

Why don't people want UConn to make it in?  The more Big East teams that get in, the better for MU. We're in for sure, and I hope the BE can squeeze 9 teams in.  For reputation of the league, and also more NCAA units for conference teams = more $$$ for MU.

Lunardi "Self proclaim expert" has them in as of this morning.  Both ND and UCONN last 4 in, 9 BEAST teams in.

Sorry to say it, but it is a soft bubble. Alot of the bubble teams are losing games and the committee is almost being forced to pick one of them and obviously Lunardi thinks that its UCONN. Its as if a lot of teams are limping into the tournament.

Provided we beat ND on Saturday, I think the Irish and UConn need a minimum of two BE tournament wins to get in. I think Lunardi is nuts; there's no way nine BE teams get in because we keep beating each other.

ACC has gotten 7 of 12 in the tourney before , Big Ten 7 of 11,  etc..  However, as much as the committee talks about not limiting the number of teams from the conference I will believe it when I see it.  I think the max is 8 for the Big East.  They have the added problem if they give nine on which two teams should face each other in a potential second round match-up.

It will be interesting if we ever get nine or more.  I wont hold my breath.

flash

I can't believe how much Uconn has underachieved this year.  Stanley Robinson, Kemba Walker, and Jerome Dyson are some of the best players in the conference.  If you compare Uconn's talent level to MU's talent level, it isn't even close.  They should be one of the top 4 teams in the Big East.
